Morality / Ethics, what do we mean?

*        What does it mean to be moral or ethical, a person of integrity?

*        How do we become ethical people?  By nature?  Nurture?  Choice?

*        How have various cultural and religious traditions defined ethical conduct and character?

*        Is ethics fundamentally subjective, or relative to culture?

*        Are there any basic rights or obligations that transcend cultures and subjective values?

*        What is just?  How should we weigh conflicting principles of justice?

*        Who (or what) should "count" in our moral deliberations?  Humans only?  All sentient animals?  All living things?

*        What ethical issues do we need to face today in political and professional life?

*        How might our ethical deliberations lead us to action?
